Dept. Of Dirty Tricks: Phillyblog Poster Reveals Fumo Friend List/Architecture Of Crumbling Old Boy Network
When it comes to local politics, we take a lot of what we see on Phillyblog with an enormous grain of salt, and with good reason: The forums have long been infiltrated by everything from anonymous campaign operatives to neighborhood cranks to people with very personal axes to grind. But something forwarded to us today seemed revealing if not for its believability or highly questionable source, then certainly for it’s grasp on the behind the scenes players that could, very plausibly, somehow get Vince Fumo elected again. It goes like this:
Anyone who supports Vince Fumo is supporting a man who has taken millions of our money for himself and another million to defend himself from corruption charges.
Who is supporting the alleged crook Vince Fumo? Who are his friends? Who aides him and supports him in trying to maintain power for himself?
I got this list of alleged Fumo supporters from a competing campaign.

–Lynn Abraham, City’s leading prosecutor: the DA
–James Kenney, Councilman at Large who doesn’t want Vince’s job when he’s done
–Frank DiCicco, First District Councilman who wants Vince’s job when he’s done
–Christian DiCicco, Citizens Alliance chief, St. Rep candidate
–Larry Farnse, candidate for St. Senate and St Rep
–Bob Brady, congressman and Farnese’s campaign chair
–Renee Gillinger, wanna be ward leader running both Farnese’s campaigns
–Ken Snyder, sugarhouse’s bitch and Fumo’s media guy
–Sofi Snyder, Ken’s toothless daughter in Fumo’s new TV AD
–Carl Engleke, Vice Pres, Wash. Square West Civic who works for Fumo
–John Hawkins, East Fallser who worked for Kenney in city council but was paid by Fumo and the senate. Now he’s a lobbyist who lobbies city council.
–Judy Applebaum, pres. Washington Sq. West Civic who likes cashing checks from Fumo
–Gaetano Piccirilli, Farnese treasurer who is “helping” Fumo on casino issues and hates Anne Dicker because she’s smarter than him
–Brian Abernathy, a wannabe councilman
–Jeff Rush, woman-hating Pres of Queen Village Neighbors who is “with” for Fumo
–Colleen Pucket, former QVNA president who got a parking lot of the neighborhood, so long as Fumo got to pick the company who manages it
–John Smythe, Bella Vista civic loudmouth supports Fumo
–Joel Palmer, Bella Vista civic bully who supports Fumo
–Andy Stackstetter, head of Rivers Edges “civic association”, a group allegedly representing just 2 small blocks in Philadelphia. He is it’s only member, its only leader and it’s only benefactor of Fumo’s largess.
–Fred Druding, Jr., Whitman Council’s Fumo plant
–Mark Squilla, Fumo’s other plant in Whitman
–Several board members of the Passyunk Sq. Civic Association
–Bernice Hammel of Society Hill Civic Assoc.
–Beverly Sherman of Society Hill Towers
–Tommy Johnson, Port Richmond civic weirdo who works for Fumo
–Gabriella Cinafrani, Queen Villager who blogs on PB and who works for the Senate thanks to Fumo, and she loves crooks. First her dad and now, her “boss”.
–Richard Horrow, pres. of old city civic assoc.
–Cynthia Philo, head of Old City District
–Maggie O’Brien, casino lover from FishtownIf you see any of these people, please tell them that if they continue to support Fumo, they are working against the interests of Philadelphia and your neighborhood.
When they renounce Fumo and all his evil in writing, their name will be taken off the list. Until then, this list will be distributed everywhere. On the internet. In people’s mailboxes, etc. Everyone is going to know who supports Fumo in spite of the damage he has done.
Meow, right? The thread goes on to host gasping posts from all comers about how the list is a plant from the Anne Dicker campaign (later emphatically denied by Dicker’s folks), and then, as Phillyblog threads tend to do, devolves into fingerpointing and personal attacks. But as a connect-the-dots list, it’s a telling look into what the local political establishment really thinks about how Fumo is slated to fare during the next year of elections and trials. Only one question, though: Is it real?

It does get more interesting later on when Gabrielle Cianfrani, State Senate aide for Vince Fumo and daughter of “Buddy”, flat out admits she has been slinging mud from her desk at work at numerous progressive pols from Nutter to Dicker to Anastasio.
Oh and somebody by the sign-in of Mij29 (who seems precariously to State Rep candidate Christian DiCicco) appears to blatantly try and offer me a job to “flip” to the dark side just up thread. ;)

This person blogs anonymously and doesn’t have the courage to give his name. I did not “flat out” admit to blogging on the Senate’s time. And I will not be called out by some sh*t-slinging moron.
