Hey there, Gillian. Yes, the kids have been trying to get me out to their thing for a while now, but I was in no physical condition to go anywhere this weekend due to flu (had to bow out of a Bartrams Garden staff trek into the Great Swamp as well, dammit). But truth be told, I really much prefer getting quietly tight over a good hearty red down at Southwark, and staring at their moth orchids.

We have to get a roller boogie expedition together–I have the fever, you see (Carmen Gardens? Good call, Gtownradioboy). Can you imagine a roller boogie event in a conservatory? Heaven.

I blame myself.

My man James (fellow in the green carnation) does have a great little world he’s built for himself out in blue-collar Queens–took him years to create that room. Adam and I shot him for a magazine piece a couple years ago. In some ways the Compound may be its Philly equivalent, in that an element of fantasy is at play there too–just a different aesthetic.

Good geeky fun all around. Sweet kids.

Anyone want to start a Philebs rollerskating night? For some reason I want to get up in a suit and rollerskate to the Ohio Players.
