Village Idiots Attempt To Repackage Old City As Penn’s Village
In a city where some us still refer to Columbus Blvd. as Delaware Ave. and those of us with any taste still insist that University City is actually West Philadelphia, does Penn’s Village even stand a chance at being more than a marketing tool? If the former prez of Society Hill Civic Association has her way, it could be more than Old City that gets a lumpy new nick. Tania Rourke wants to include South St. and Queen Village into her district vision.
You may have heard about a wonderful new program that we are developing in our community called Penn’s Village. Penn’s Village is a neighborhood non-profit corporation with the goal of giving residents of Old City, Queen Village and Society Hill both the practical means and the confidence to live their lives to the fullest in their own homes.
How…quaint. Aren’t we still working on citywide acceptance of G-Ho? What we’re really worried about is how dated this could make David Grazian’s On The Make seem. At least we’re posting about Old City again, the grandfather that we never visit.
