Because all of a sudden, Mayor Michael Nutter is making like eight new headlines a day. It’s only natural that it’ll calm down as the new admin settles in — right? — but for the forseeable future, we’ll have to be dropping a NutBlast or a NutBite every day or so. In today’s headlines:
· If we didn’t know better, we’d swear Dude has some kind of coolhunting advisor or something on the payroll. Here he is presiding over the 2008 U.S. Olympic & National Table Tennis Team Trials at Drexel University. That’s pong to you and me, son. · Meanwhile, KYW is reporting that yesterday’s Noontime Nugget — Dude rapping REAL RAPS at his Inauguration Party on Monday night — is a “web sensation.” On the real, you saw it here first and you know it.
· And speaking of KYW, here’s another hot one: They’re reporting that Dude is also reconsidering that Zoning Reform Commission seat that John Street gave to his son, Sharif Street, more or less in the middle of the night on his way out the door. Attention Daily News and Inky city desks: Can one of you please write an article tallying all the shit work Street made for Nutter in the final hours of his administration? Every day, a new story comes out about some shitty thing Street did on the fly that Nutter will now have to spend valuable City hours undoing. Our only wish is that Olivia and Christian were a little bit older, so we could really invoke all those Hatfield/McCoy metaphors. [KYW]
