Again! Sure, he’s been back in Philly on a regular basis for a while now, but this month, it’s Foreman’s world and we’re just living in it. He’s on the new Cat Power album, Jukebox, due out on the 22nd (as well as the accompanying tour), and this Friday, his party The Turnaround vs. Immediate is back at The Barbary with guest Jayson Musson of Plastic Little, and he’s even got a blog (crikey!) called, ahem, The Drugstore aka The Pharmacy. >>> And remember what we were saying about the scene being in flux but that there’s all these great new baby bands just clamoring to find fans and fill the rooms? Right after we said that, we found about five new Philly bands we’re totally loving. We’re gonna leak ‘em out one by one over the coming days, but first up is a band called Cheers Elephant who start up a month-long Tuesday night residency at the Khyber tonight. They invite you to be a part of their “psychedelic safari,” and were kind enough to lay an mp3 on us and you to whet the whistle, as it were. Ecoutez:
