Local Record Store Can Prove That Actual Human Beings Bought Actual Compact Discs In 2007

akaNo, no, really: Old City’s AKA Music published their top sellers of the year list on MySpace yesterday, and it’s a pretty interesting glimpse into what folks actually bought versus, you know, what people said they bought. It’s also a fascinating glimpse into the rarified existence of the AKA customer, who apparently voted with their own dollars the same way just about every rock critic voted with their decreasingly relevant, never-stopping, nicotine stained mouths. Which these days seems a lot more valid. Dig it:

  1. Blackmail Says:

Cart before horse, man. The Great Englightenment in which people choose their own milquetoast hasn’t yet arrived. People are being recommended milquetoast, or are simply seeing in in Apple commercials, which are the new O.C. I guess.

  2. Philly Chit Chat Says:

God I’m old and uncool, I only know four of those songs.
