Captain Freeshit: Win Tickets To See Margot At The Wedding!
Regular readers of this site know that hardly a week goes by without some kind of veiled reference to Noah Baumbach‘s Kicking And Screaming. To some, that film was a dime-a-dozen ode to the slackerriffic ’90s, but to us, it is a Rosetta Stone of all that it is to be young, underemployed and miserable. We cannot know where we are going if we cannot remember where we have been. (And often, we cannot.) But as time moves on, so too does the Baumbach ouvre. Just as Mr. Jealousy taught us not to be Eric Stolz chasing after Annabella Sciorra and going to her ex-bf’s group therapy, The Squid And The Whale taught us that wiping spooge on the girl you like’s locker hardly ever works. All valuable lessons, folks. And Baumbach’s newest film, Margot At The Wedding, promises even more wisdom in the sisterly love dept. It stars Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Jack Black, and we’ve got a whole rack of tickets for lucky Philebrity readers to see an advance screening of the film next Monday, November 19, at Ritz East. You wanna go? To enter to win tickets, send an email to ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com with “THE FILET OF BROOKLYN” in the subject header. Many will enter; more will win. And if you one of the unlucky souls who got locked out at The Darjeeling Limited screening we had last month, let us know — we’ll hook you up straight away. Bon chance!
