Phashionista: Let’s Hear It For The Boys

  • Stop that man-sigh right now. Topstitch Boutique is adding menswear, and to start you up, they’re having a week-long sale with Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off all vintage and free “drinkity dranks.” Not to be outdone, we also hear that Sugarcube is reppin’ the men hard. There’s nothing like a First Friday to find out.
  • Misters who wanna be missuses will not want to miss this: The Miss West Philly Fabulous Pageant has been moved to Kingsessing but it’s still a certified drag-stravaganza that awards for Biggest Hair and Bitchiest Diva. Put on those pantyhose without further delay.
  • Ladies: here’s one for you. Goodbye Satya Boutique, how do you do, Vintage Connection. The 9th & Bainbridge storefront that once housed eco-chic is now a women’s clothing and accessories shop. The retro selection is reasonably-priced and minimal for now, but they’ll be adding items every week. What with Decades Vintage, Philly Aids Thrift, and Antiquarian’s Delight just a few blocks away, you pretty much have to start referring to Bainbridge as Vintage Row.

Decades has some great finds–my old friend Dan works there. I always wind up unwittingly buying his old stuff.
