We’ve got a new BFF in town, and cholo’s got a firm handshake. Meet the made-over Ben Franklin, our 9-foot tall bronze historical figure, who was unveiled yesterday at 4th and Arch, next to the Engine 8 Firehouse. The new statch, designed by James Peniston, will replace the ol’ Penny Franklin sculpture. This time around, Ben’s got wheels, or at the least the “Keys To Community”, and he knows how to party, with an evening reception set for First Friday. Whether you go to study his rock-solid bod or takes notes for your Ben Frankenstein cosplay/Halloween-storming, this hunk is the mack daddy of Founding Fathers.
