Captain Freeshit: Win Tickets To See Okkervil River’s SOLD OUT Show!

Okkervil River’s had us since “It Ends With A Fall,” though we were latecomers compared to those already obsessed with “Kansas City.” Yeah, we’re talking about songs instead of albums, but that’s not to say the albums — Don’t Fall In Love With Everyone You See, Down The River Of Golden Dreams, Black Sheep Boy, and now The Stage Names — aren’t terrific. It’s just songs we think of when we think of Okkervil River. Like “For Real” and “The President’s Dead.” We’re also pretty sure Will Sheff is the same dude who directed George Washington and All The Real Girls, even though we know he’s not. But yeah, the band is super duper huge now, selling out their JB’s show tomorrow to the point where the once-$10 tickets are going for a cool hun’erd in some circles. (Who are they, The National?) Anyway, that’s where we come in. We have tickets, and there ain’t no Ben Franks involved. To enter to win, just send an email to ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com with “MAINE ISLAND LOVERS” in the subject header. We’ll notify you if you’ve won by 4pm. In the meantime, enjoy this Stage Names track and remember: Damien Jurado’s playing too. Maybe God doesn’t hate you after all.
