You all surely know Michael Nutter – probably our next Mayor, the guy who says he’s going to clean up City Hall and all the pay-to-play corruption in Philadelphia government. There is a very good chance you voted for him in the primary last spring. Well, this Thursday there will be a $500-a-plate fund raiser for him hosted by none other than Tad Decker – yes, the former chair of the PA Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Decker is currently under investigation for ethics violations in connection with his activities as chair of the PGCB, his relationship with Rendell, and his past & present (currently CEO) employment by the law firm of Cozen O’Connor (which represents SugarHouse Casino).

For Nutter to endorse and attend this fundraiser is beyond shocking. I encourage all moms to write him letters voicing your disappointment that he is willing to accept campaign contributions from someone with such questionable ethical standards, and who is responsible for imposing this casino on our neighborhoods in such gross violation of our democratic rights.
