From The Desk Of This Week In Balls: A Look Ahead to Winter Fashions

flyersMichael Fichman reports: This offseason, in an unprecedent move, the NHL has entirely redesigned the uniforms for EVERY team to use a new, sleek, Reebok template design. On the 14th, the Flyers are due to release their design. I was planning a big post on the history of Philadelphia sports uniforms for next week to coincide with the announcement. But in the process of doing some preliminary research, I discovered that the Flyers may have (oops!) leaked the design to their season ticket holders ahead of their big press conference. It’s not a radical departure from the current design — a tribute to the Flyers’ tradition, but frankly, I’m concerned about what the move to form fitting fabric means for those of us who have to interact with Flyers fans on a daily basis.
