Phashionista: Labold And Labeautiful

- Local gal Melanie C. Brandon has in one fell swoop done what no city department has ever successfully done: Recycled metal. (Yes, we are of the high percentile of Philadelphians that simply do not believe that the City actually takes our recycling to a recycling plant, but that, friends, is a diatribe for another time.) Brandon has been melting down guns confiscated by the Philly Po-Po and made a line of accessories out of them. No word yet on whether boutiques are running a background check on potential buyers, or whether the NRA approves.
- If you’re in Old City on Thursday eve perchance, stop by Skinners as the Labold Brothers — hailing from Philaboldelphia, doncha know — have a party from 9pm-2am for their sassy/hot new line of tees (pictured).
- And attention fans and friends of Gwen: Third Street Habit is carrying pieces from the much-hyped fall L.A.M.B. line. We’re thinking about picking some up just to make our impressions of her hilariously bad stage banter from her summer tour that much more realistic.

much-hyped fall L.A.M.B. line??? The one Cathy Horyn in the NYT called “astonishingly bad – straight out of a mall in Ditzville”??

Wouldn’t be surprised to see the ironic followup, the Philly PD hands over the confiscated guns before they’re used as evidence, cuz you know they’re about da aht.

The Third Street Habit is one of the worst stores in the city. From the overpriced clothing to the unhelpful staff and unfashionable owner, this store keeps 3rd street from being a complete shopping destination. On the other hand, Sugarcube’s new store on 3rd street is flawless!!

Let New York be about fashion. Philly should be about style.
