This Evening: Moustache Jones And The Solid Fog Dancers
>>> It is a quality, quality night in Philadelphia tonight, and at the risk of, you know, telling you what to do, we’d like to do just that. From 7-9pm, hit up Philadelphia Weekly’s Concerts In The Park in Rittenhouse Square (you know where that is, right?) for Man Man and Favourite Sons. Now, a few words about this: We rag on both PW and Man Man a lot, right? Well, real talk: PW has done a great job in programming this year’s concerts (paper still sucks, sorry) and Man Man, we have always attested, put on an utterly spectacular live show even if it is as plain as day that they should not ever enter a recording studio again for as long as they all shall live. Think of them as you would, say, Phish. Plus, Favourite Sons also kick their share of ass. So go. KYW says it won’t rain, PLUS you’ll get to wear a jacket. In August in Philadelphia.
>>> Meanwhile, Camera Obscura play the Filmore At The TLA. RIYL: Belle & Sebastian, Lloyd Cole, the Scottish, 60s girl group sounds, and yourself.
>>> And how do you wrap it all up? FOGGY NOTION. Our new party kicks off tonight at 10pm at Silk City with Dark Horse & The Carousels and DJs Kyle Miller and Joey Sweeney spinning past and present messy dancey rock sounds dating back a whole 50 years. Punk history: Where you come from shouldn’t be a mystery. 10pm, $5, $2 PBRs all nite. Check the Foggy Notion page for music, video, updates and more. And for God’s sake, watch the trailer already. We made it for you!
