Cute Boy Alert: Blake The South Street Crooner

blake.jpgNow we love us some fresh Street Musician. Big plus when we happened upon babe-ish Blake Charleton the III on South St. and found him to be the only thing worth stopping there for on that fateful day. There he sat on the sidewalk strumming his guitar for a rotund black woman who was singing along. It was then that he shared his tale.

Name a band, he’s been in it. The Connecticut native has been gracing Philadephia street corners with his instrument and smooth vocals for two years and counting. After his father went bankrupt and lost the TCBY Frozen Yogurt fortune, he died and left Blake nothing but rakish good looks. Jobless, but not without talent, our dashing rogue now fronts Howard Simon’s Sex Change. His old band Akudama once opened for the Arcade Fire at Tufts University, but the humble fellow didn’t mention that (the elves at Philebrity are on the grind).

We’re not looking to blow up his spot, but if you should see dear Blake serenading the passersby, do bat your eyelashes, write him a check, sign him to your record label, or just, you know, listen. Those are the sounds of a loverboy keeping in tune.
