This Weekend: Summer Lull Continues, But Don’t Tell Generation Sparks

myers_laragione.jpgFRIDAY
>>> It’s First Friday, but it is also August, so there are limited options. Our go to opening of the night is Bambi Gallery, with the latest exhibit of recent works by Terrence Laragione and Derek Myers.
>>> It’s been waaay too long since I’ve seen pictures of myself embarrassingly chugging Pabst in the background of hipsters far cuter than moi. Thank the dance party gods that Hands and Knees’s Jonny Sorber and Philebrity Myspace Slut #5 OhMyTodd are hosting Faux Pas at National Mechanics. If those cheapass Cherry bombs don’t spin the room, Dave Jaffe and Diamond Girl will see what they can do.
>>> Attn. pals of Trevor Butler: The previously scheduled Coyote show at Tritone tonight has morphed into a tribute to Trevor’s life and music. Mtn. High will be rockin’ out, DJ Distroy Roy will spin, Gang will have the raps, Ryan Hamilton and Russell Higbee of Coyote will play some Coyote songs, and Fang Fang (Greg from Bottom Of The Hudson’s other band) will also lay it down. All proceeds will go to benefit funeral expenses and medical bills for the band. As Rodger from Hot Dog City sez, “Please come and crush one for Trevor.”
>>> Adam Arcuragi headlines Johnny Brenda’s tonight accompanied by our prettiest friend Maryanne Doman on dulcimer. With These United States, Cartwright and Creeping Weeds at Johnny Brenda’s.
>>> Spank Rock at Silk City. This shit is going to be full before 11, so get there like now and wait.
SATURDAY
>>> Mew Gallery will be hosting the first of their Acoustic Mewsic Saturdays (aww) tomorrow with Movable Type playing at the store from 4 to 5. Check it out and buy your self something nice.
>>> The Re-Up! is back at Sal’s with those lovable Crimp Yr. Hair dudes and the one and only vowel deficient JHN RDN. Shake what your mamma gave you people.
SUNDAY
>>> Don’t let the party end! Go to Brunchaholic with DJ Ashy K at Johnny Brenda’s, land of cheap breakfast alcoholy goodness.
>>> How many Sara Sherr karaoke nights are too many? Is this Sara’s new career? Will Sara tire of hearing drunk people sing? These answers and more at Sal’s tonight. Karaoke till you don’t care how hung over you are on Monday.

Thanks for the plugs, guys! One teeny thing: Distroy Roy is spinning tonight at Tritone, not the Rock Tits doods. And yes, I never tire of hearing drunk people sing.
