Bottom Of The Hudson In Fatal Accident: Trevor Butler Dead, Greg Lytle In Critical Condition
It is with great, awful sadness today that we inform you that the Philly band Bottom Of The Hudson were involved in a van wreck yesterday following a gig in Myrtle Beach, NC that has left bass player Trevor Butler (pictured, at right) dead and new drummer Greg Lytle in critical condition after being airlifted to Chapel Hill, NC. According to guitarist/keyboardist Michael Prince, the group were travelling through Clinton, NC, when a tire blew out and sent the van reeling out of control. The other members of the band - Eli Simon (pictured, at left), William Chesterton Chambers and Prince - sustained mild injuries and were released from the hospital last night. The group were wrapping up a string of tour dates for their latest album, Fantastic Hawk, when the accident occurred. The group kindly asks that friends keep Trevor and Greg in their thoughts at this time, and by all means, feel free to post remembrances in the comments below this post; we will see to it that they are forwarded to the band. Additionally, the group kindly asks if phone calls could be kept to a minimum at this difficult time. All of us here at Philebrity would like to extend deepest condolences to family, friends and fans of the group; we will keep you posted regarding any updates, as well as memorial services and the like.
