So I picked up the Metro on my way in the building just now, chiefly because Lindsay Lohan’s mugshot takes up most of the front page. I was going to cut it out and put it in my office, but I first checked the reverse to see if I wanted to read whatever might be there. On that page, there’s a big picture of a sidewalk memorial to the 3 victims who were shot at that bar in southwest Philly over the weekend. Prominent in the photo is an empty bottle of Hennessy, flanked by a tall glass candle and a tacky cocktail glass. And this is why I love Philly: you can’t keep a classy bitch down. On a related note, I love the Metro for consistently representing Philly in a way that makes the Daily News and the Inky look like the scrappy upstarts.
