BREAKING: Larry West Rounding Up A Posse To Publicly Shame John Street At 3PM

Well, well, well! Guess who’s in line waiting for an iPhone?

Mayor Street is currently waiting in line (Well, actually, an aide is right now) for an iPhone on 16th Street right between Market and Chestnut in an alley behind the AT&T Store. I went down there myself at 11AM and asked him why he was there instead of working, to which he said, “I’m doing my job.”

So, at 3PM, join me as I go back down there and confront him… AGAIN! This time, I want as many citizens as possible to come down and complain with me!

So 3PM, AT&T Store, 16th & Market/Chestnut (You can’t miss it!)! BE THERE!

-Larry West

This should go well.

Considering Street left about an hour ago [while West was still there...wtf?,] this won’t be interesting.

  2. C. The Impaler Says:

This is just political theater masquerading West’s effort to cut Street in line.

I say Patricio, Collateral News, the Northern Liberties bulletin board, and that guy who covered Sundance with his big head and now tapes cheap dates all get dispatched to cover this. It’ll end in a Philadelphia Media 2.? rumble that’ll rival the news team smackdown in Anchorman, that leggy med student with the dating show gets the winner.

¶ PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Mayor John F. Street abruptly ended his wait in line for an iPhone Friday after a passer-by asked him about the city’s murder rate.
¶ Street, who showed up outside an AT&T store at 3:30 a.m., left shortly after a 22-year-old sporting a mohawk asked him, “How can you sit here with 200 murders in the city already?” The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on its Web site.
¶ Street told the man: “I’m doing my job,” the newspaper said.
¶ Street had planned to stay in line for most of the day, waiting for Apple Inc.’s iPhone to go on sale at 6 p.m. When he left at 11:30 a.m., Street said he planned to return to his spot.
¶ The mayor said he wants the new device because he loves trying out the latest technology. Apple’s new handheld would allow him to work some of the day outside the office, he said.
¶ “We don’t have to be sitting in City Hall to be conducting city business,” he said.
¶ Philadelphia recently had its 200th slaying of the year. Its murder rate is up from last year, the deadliest in nearly a decade.
