FRIDAY
>>> From 5-9 there is a fundraiser for our friends at Mew Gallery. Stop by the M Room for drinks, an art auction and DJ sets by DJ Beckerlicious, DJ JD, DJ Sara Sherr, DJ Dr. Rick & Joe Lekkas. It’s only $8 and all the proceeds go towards keeping the gallery running. It’s a good cause people, that place rules.
>>> Living legend Jello Biafra will be at the Trocadero tonight telling you what is what. If you don’t know much about this man, don’t admit it to your friends, find out here.
>>> Don’t even think about it, R5′s Panda Bear show is wayyyyyy sold out. Check out Photon Band at Johnny Brenda’s instead. They are playing with Verona Downs and The Yarrows.
>>> Of course people are interested in the Redden’s new DJ night, especially when they hear it is at a ritzy sushi joint in Fairmount. They are even bringing in Gregg Foreman himself to christen the new night, Crescendolls.
SATURDAY
Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice Celebration kicks off today. Running from 3pm straight on until dawn, this is like a weird drugless rave. But with things like Spinto Band playing at midnight, it’s kind of hard not to get into. Performers include: Melody Gardot, Cynthia G. Mason, Red Heart the Ticker, Enon, M Shanghai String Band, DJ Shawn Ryan, Relay, Spinto Band, and Beretta 76. Don’t be scared off by the sunrise drum circle, Bob and Barbara’s Drag Show cancels out the lameness.
>>> Our friends the Philadelphyinz are back Upstairs at the Khyber. These guys are as nice as pie, and excellent DJs to boot. Now go shake that ass!
>>>Plastic Little Presents: Married to the Mirror with DJ Deejay and DJ Si You at the M Room. We are relying on you for a full report. This is a test and it will be graded. Thanks.
SUNDAY
>>> You know that feeling of anxiety you get on a Sunday because you just don’t want the weekend to be over and you can’t believe that you have to get up and work the next day? What is the best way to make it go away? $10 open bar? YES. Now, my friends, there are 2 to choose from. Sal’s has All You Can Drink Sundays with DJs Mike T and Kyle M and Upstairs at the Khyber has Open Bar Sunday with DJ Eric Tomorrow. Sure, Sal’s stole the idea but hey, it’s good to have options.
