Philadelphia Now Leading The Nation In Annoying, Unoriginal YouTubes-Of-The-Moment
A Temple University undergraduate student is the co-author of one of YouTube’s most popular new spoofs. The song is about a woman, who calls herself ‘Obamagirl’, who has a crush on Barak Obama:
21-year-old Leah Kauffman wrote the song, “I Got A Crush On Obama” with 32-year-old advertising executive Ben Relles and music producer Rick Friedrick:
“I think it’s nice for people to be able to joke about politics.”
Alright, a couple of things about this:
1. Nothing makes us cringe more than stories about 21 year old undergrads and 32-year old ad execs and record producers getting together. You fucking chickenhawks just made this poor dopey girl a JOKE for the rest of her academic career, if not beyond.
2. Honey, this is not going to lead to money OR fame. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to give some hack morning shock-jock a blowjob in the back of an Appleby’s in suburbia.
3. All of you are also doing your part to make Obama be taken even less seriously than he already is, so THANKS for THAT.
4. Perhaps sensing this, Miss Kaufmann says “You know, people my age and people I go to college with, I think the more they get into this song, the more people will turn out to vote.” I hate you. Please die.
