>>> The Art Star Craft Bazaar kicks off at 11. There are over 100 artists and crafters setting up booths, and every single one of them loves The Shins. Free demonstrations going on all day; this is the Hands Across America of craft fairs. Big ups to Art Star for getting it done right.
>>> Two outdoor music festivals happening today, and they play out the West Philly Vs. NoLibs Music Battle that only exists in the minds of the Badmaster Records people anyway. Liberty Lands hosts Discount Heroes, Mellow Veneer, Shadow Man, Sunsplit, Slo Mo, Asteroid #4, and Black Landlord. Starts at 4:30 and is literally a stones throw from the Art Star Jawn. Or if you are must go west young man, check out Clark Park’s Best Fest with Bad News Bats, Jimmy Cousins, Island Tan & Tickley Feather, Serpents of Wisdom, Snack Truck, West Philadelphia Orchestra, The Chimeras, Wise Blood, Mecca Rising, Grand-Children, Eat Forever, Brethers, Pads & Steel and Like Machine Guns. That list of band names is like game where you pick random words out of a hat and stick them to your forehead — which, in this weather, you could. Speaking of, let’s give a shout-out to the Curse of the Outdoor Music Fest: Don’t rain today! You know how mad those guys in Tickley Feather get when they pack up all their gear for nothing. On the other hand, to even mention it by name is to wish it so. In that case, our bad.
>>> After all the booze and sun, keep the summer vibe happening with a cruise on the lovely Delaware River. What? The Delaware isn’t good enough for you?
