Shady Brady Rumor Seconded By Philadelphia Gay News Publisher
From a mass email that went out from the desk of Mark Segal this weekend:
Everybody all day Friday was wondering why it seemed that the Nutter campaign was leaking to the press that Brady would allow ward leaders or committeemen to support another candidate for mayor, in this case Nutter. The answer is rather simple. And here’s the rumor I’ve gotten from a source, and it makes perfect sense. Nutter has a new internal strong poll. a strong poll is when you ask the voter “are you definitely going to vote this Tuesday”, rather then “likely voter….. and as the Keystone poll found 40% of voters were soft on their candidate choices. that said pundits are predicting a low turnout of about 35%. And as we all know, low turnout is the best opportunity for the party candidate. So to that poll…. The Nutter strong poll showed. Nutter number 1, but the surprise is that Brady is a close number 2. The poll also shows Knox continuing his fall, and now battling for 3rd place with Chaka. And we still have 3 days to go.
The rest, spelling and snytax [sic] mistakes and all, after the jump.
Rep Evans and Congressman Fattah have done a good job in their current positions and it’s therefore understandable some members of the community feel loyal to them. But remember this is not horse shoes. You get no points for coming close. In politics the winner takes all.
Why take a chance ? Brady is our best chance to be big winners in the primary of 2007 ! Voting is important – smart voting is critical ! ! !One last note. Friday night light polls, in the gayborhood were plastered with Knox signs. This shows a lack of respect for our neighborhood which I’m proud to say all other candidates have respected.
Feel free to pass this on or send more reply with more info. We should all be inform.
We indeed should all be so, er, “inform.” On a related note, another email from Segal in the inbox this morning reveals that PGN is endorsing — we shit you not — Bob Brady. The gay/Brady interface: Seriously, the mind wobbles.

Be careful, lest those whose spelling and grammar you deride come to collect the Sny Tax.

well, naturally we’re not expecting you to follow the PGN – but it has been no secret that Mark is supporting Brady … he’s been quite public about that for weeks in his column and just walking by the office you can see Brady signs in their window.
To note, Mark is quite loyal to those politicians that have been supportive to LGBT issues, and that is his measuring stick when it comes to his/PGN’s endorsements.
Nothing wrong with that – but personally, I need to look at the bigger picture when casting a vote. Thankfully, we’ve come to a point in our city when it’s not JUST about whether someone supports LGBT issues and the community.
