I remember being there on a Sunday (before heading to RUBA) years back and someone played ‘Don’t stop believing’ on the jukebox. It was a bazillion degrees, stinky and sticky in there but when that song came on, EVERYONE in the bar started singing it! We wrapped our sweaty arms around friends and strangers alike as we mercilessly butchered the he’ll out of that tune.
AND IT WAS EFFIN’ BEAUTIFUL!!!
Wow, I have that ‘just been dumped’ feeling in my gut as I reminisce over that place.
I miss you Minf and that puzzling chest of drawers in the one bathroom.

no one will miss this place more than i. i have met so many great people, and have had probally the best 3 years of my life while working there. oh minfo you will be missed. silk, minfo, what great bar will be next?

I think we all knew the end was near when they removed the dentists chair. Then goodbye to the dart board, the old menu (best bar squid ever), and reggae bands in the back room. Minfo/W&J’s, you got me through some tough times and I thank you for it.

On a related note…will the water buffalo ever return to Ortlieb’s?
