Usually it’s mom we worry about when someone swings by the crib and things are looking rather scummy. But who’s on our case now? It’s none other than Mayor Nagin. After a visit to the city last week where the Nag thanked us for sheltering Katrina victims and played nice to our faces, he scurried back to N’awlins and immediately trashed-talked:

“Let me tell you something. You ought to go to Philly and you will appreciate how clean New Orleans is,” Nagin said Saturday to a crowd of New Orleans residents concerned about the city’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

“Just go and walk around Philly a little bit and you will appreciate,” Nagin said. ” … We still have some work to do but we definitely beat them by a long shot.”

Yo, Nag, we got a lil’ feature you might want to check out. Ya like that, eh? We have a feeling you’re our kinda guy. On the reals, though? Yeah, we’re kinda dirty, but at least we’re not eight feet below sea level. And don’t forget that we drove straight through New Orleans without stopping last month because it looked a hot mess. We’d shake your hand and say things are even, but face it, we’ve got Park The Van Records and you’ve got a damaged ego.
