Charlie Manuel Unloads On Howard Eskin, Phils Still Suck

Manuel - nicknamed “Red Devil” when he played in Japan because of his explosive temper - challenged his questioner to meet him in Manuel’s office, where, Manuel promised, he would display temper.
And, there, Manuel did, for several minutes, loudly enough to be heard from 20 yards away through closed doors. Manuel’s point: He does get mad, and he resented what he considers the radio host’s continual unfair criticism of Manuel.
After that confrontation, Manuel, on his way through the clubhouse, resumed hollering at the radio personality when they locked eyes. A Phillies coach and a media relations representative ushered Manuel, spewing profanity, out the back of the clubhouse.
We had a feeling things were going to reach a boiling point when we caught Howard Eskin on the NBC10 Sunday night sports wrap-up show. I mean, it was a fantastic appearance, Eskin reading messages from “unidentified experts” off his Blackberry, and for once, Burger King was right: A lot of this shit with the Phils — the lack of inspiration, the general pall over the dugout just killing all those good vibes — is Charlie Manuel’s fault. Dude needs to go. He looks like he’s asleep in there. Meanwhile, his team suffers indignity after indignity. So what does Manuel do? He shoots the messenger. Sure, it’s Howard Eskin, but you know what? Getting mad at Howard Eskin is like arguing on the Internet: Even if you win, you’re still retarded.

WOW wan’t expecting you to side with eskin.. Manuel is not the problem in this case. nor was he the reason they did so well in the second half last year. I think 700 level nails it.
