This Evening: “Contradictory Perspectives Chronicle Epic After-Hours Nightlife In A Group Of Hipsters”
>>> The Popped! just rages on! Tonight: Golden Ball, King Kong Ding Dong, The War on Drugs, Fan of Friends, Fursaxa, with DJ Mental Feelings at The Parlor in Souf Philly. More deetz at the Popped! website.
>>> Other shows of note: The deliciously Depeche Mode-ish Junior Boys at the First Unitarian Church, and mellow faves Red Heart The Ticker at the North Star Bar. Can somebody write in and tell us if people are going to other shows while all of this Popped! stuff is going on? We have this dreadful feeling that they’re not. On the other hand, we also have a steady feeling of dread that maybe the entire world has been lying to us all our lives about everything, and nothing is what it seems. Plus, there was a shitload of people at Iggy & The Stooges last night, so take THAT, MillCreek Tavern!
>>> Philadelphia Film Festival Picks: Are you ready? Tonight, it’s all about You Are Here (from whence we draw today’s picture and headline), Dans Paris and Cashback. Click on and learn.

uh, ‘Dans Paris’ has been canceled from the film fest. hire a fact checker.
yes, people are “going to other shows while all of this Popped! stuff is going on.” i’d skip a Popped! show in a heart beat to go see a national act. i mean, it’s not like all these local philly bands don’t play every other day anyway. so oversaturated and unspecial. play less, build some anticipation, dudes and gals. and write some new songs…
