The Plot Thickens: Tierney & Co. To Scoop Up The Weekly?

Informed observers speculate that Philadelphia Media Holdings, which owns the Daily News and Inqwaster, is among bidders for the Philadelphia Weekly, which has quietly gone on the market.
“All I can say is no comment,” PMH CEO Brian Tierney told us yesterday when asked if the company was bidding on the paper. A recent Inqwaster report said that nondisclosure agreements were signed between Review Publishing, owner of PW, and potential bidders.

A few things about this: One, Dan Gross, you are a grown ass man. Stop calling it the “Inqwaster” in print, unless you wanna make substitutions all the way around and say “Daily Poo’s,” The Shitty Paper” and of course, “The Weakly.” (To say nothing of “Shillebrity.”) We’d advise against this, though, because it’s all so very fucking Dilbert. Two: How sweet would it be for Tierney to own the Weekly? Think of the spiritual crisis it would bring for the man, owning a business that is propelled, let’s face it, by tranny hookers? And three: Yes, we’re thinking of making a bid on this thing as well ‚Äî but only so we can auction off the rights to fire PW staffers personally to the general public on eBay. And lastly, not for nothing, you’d think that the Weekly’s blog would have some kind of insight on all this and not a dumb blackout, but wrong again, bucko: We just swung over there and it was still more of DMac going, “LOL OMG, isn’t the news FUNNY?”
Yes it is, Danielson, yes, it is.

Wow! “No comment” is a far cry better than saying “No way! We’d be more likely to buy Hustler than PW!” and then announcing the sale next week. Small steps, Bri!

I don’t know when I’ve ever loved you more madly. Every time I read Gross write Inkwaster I picture him in a diaper with a rattle.
