Philebrity Wonders: Who The Hell Taped The Giant Philly Soundclash Check To Our Door This Morning?

Well, it seems that the local overbite-funk-rock scene is still in a tizzy about Lexie Lerro’s wrap-up of the Philly Car Share Philly Soundclash Contest last week. Since Friday, the hate mail has been pouring in ‚Äî ostensibly because Lexie had the raw nerve to, uh, suggest that most bands who compete for cash and prizes suck pretty much by definition ‚Äî but when we woke up this morning, we couldn’t believe our eyes. Taped to the front door of Philebrity HQ was the giant grand-prize winner’s check you see before you, with the cardboard note attached (inset). (At first we thought Tommy Up might have somehow been the culprit. After all, he’s the guy with the Aqua Teen Hunger Force promo-bomb.) But alas, no. Nor does it seem to be contest winners Philly Slick but rather, “theefs” who somehow swiped the check from wherever it was last. Or maybe not? We can’t tell. At any rate, Philly Slick, if you want your check, drop us a line to come and claim it. If not, there is a way shady check cashing place in Port Richmond where we think we can turn this into some green.
