This Shit Is Bananas: What Was Up With The ‘97 Gangsta Rap Jams Set Off At Monster?

In case you missed last weekend’s high school flash-dance, Lexie tells all:
We had the distinct pleasure of trekking up to the Starlight Ballroom to go to Monster on Saturday. What we found upon arrival were long lines for expensive drinks, lasers, weird people and a lot more hip hop than we anticipated. Despite this, we had a bit of fun, broke it down and got sweaty. Here‚Äôs the thing: It really was just like a high school dance. We paid five bucks to get in, we saw our boyfriends‚Äô exes and our ex-boyfriends‚Äô exes, we saw lesbians (a lot of ‚Äòem!) making out, we saw the Asian kids sitting together, we saw some skanky girls with too much lipliner, we saw some frat boy types going crazy (one of whom gave Kelly his business card ‚Äî he‚Äôs a rapper/producer), and most importantly, everyone looked to be about seventeen years old.And wtf’s up with the drrrty looks? Come on girlfriends, just ‘cuz your boobies and hair gel have to be up in everyone’s business doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with our skinny jeans and new rave fever. Judge not lest ye be judged, and honey, them Skechers and dirty roots gots to go!
