Rumblings: Total Drags For People Who Like Coffee, Independent Businesses AND Leather Queens
>>> This one’s a bummer that affects the overall mood of the Philebrity HQ directly: As of right now, Ground Floor Coffee at Second & Poplar in NoLibs ‚Äî by our count one of the better coffee hangs in the city, what with that big yard and all and the dude from Plastic Little behind the counter ‚Äî is closed. Neighborhood scuttlebut has it that a switch in ownership is in the works, and that the shop will be open again soon, possibly retaining its name and neighborhood vibe. [MySpace]
>>> Meanwhile, in that same NoLibs.org thread, it’s also revealed that Rita’s Water Ice will also be arriving in the 19123, being a first of sorts in the way of chains. Which is also a drag, but seriously, who are we kidding, come June we’re gonna be dumping vodka in that stuff all afternoon and posting here. [NorthernLiberties.org]
>>> And lastly, a reader informs us of another, uh, blow to our leisure time options: “TyZ (that ultra-sordid gay sleaze bar on 15th and South) has been purchased by FiSo. Apparently [Sunday] night was the closing, and they told neither the employees nor the house dealers. Perhaps they’ll call the new jawn ‘Dreemz West.’”

So will Tyz sell their shufflebowl game on craigslist? And will Sal’s buy it? Because if this happens I’m totally all about Sal’s now.
I think this definitely warrants an in-depth investigative report, Philebrity…

Wow that is whack. Like… I go to TyZ about 2x a month… no not to buy anything.
Only fucking gay bar in the tri-state area that has Miller Lite. I’m not gay enough to drink Coors Light with a rainbow on it.
