I’m just waiting to see something like this under “Ask Dr. Philebrity”:
Dear Ms. Behavior:
I’m transgender, FTM, and have been living as a man for two years. I don’t think most people can tell; I seem to basically pass as male. I’ve had top surgery, but my bottom surgery will have to wait until I can afford it.
Here’s the question: I met a woman, Jen, at the dog park, and we had a date last weekend. I don’t want to wait until we’re about to have sex to say, “Oh by the way, I used to be female and I don’t have a dick yet.”
My friend James, who is also an FTM, says that he always tells women before he even asks them out. It’s unclear to me how soon I need to tell. Is it a matter of ethics to tell before you even go on a date?
