   David,
   That was Little Steven who showed up that night at JFK in ’87. I’m pretty sure they played that “Sun City” song he had then.

   thanks amy – my memory is in general not even slightly reliable, but springsteen was definitely onstage at jfk that night, because the whole building shook when he came out, and when they condemned it a few weeks later i was convinced that was why – maybe van zandt was there too – i don’t remember that part

   I’m pretty sure this was wachovia like october 2005? It defintly was a recent U2 concert…the tour that just past.

   Yep, October 2005. Earlier in the night Bono was slipping Springsteen lines in here and there which seemed odd, then Springsteen and his then wife came out for the encore.

   Also happened in 1987 on the same exact spot (then JFK stadium. In 1987 Bono had a broken arm and said “I need someone to play guitar on this next one. I need Bruce Springsteen to play my guitar!”. He did the same this time. It’s amazing he remembered that.
