Breaking: A-Sides Complete Record, Finalize Deal; Play Super Secret Show After Work On Tuesday

Julie Christie, the rumors are true: We’re hearing today that Philadelphia band The A-Sides are in the process of finalizing a deal with what manager Dryw Scully calls “a label that will catapult the band to a national level.” The group’s sophomore full-length record, the much-buzzed-about Silver Storms, was recorded with producer Brian McTear when the band was slated to sign to another indie. But instead, the band completed the record on their own dime and shopped it around to labels big and small. Usually, when a band does this, it almost never ends well, but in the A-Sides’ case, not so. After a lot of footsie, the group is now said to be going with a label that may or may not rhyme with “PRAYGNANT,” and is looking at a potential June release. (It’ll sound great on your iPhone.) And what a record Silver Storms is. The band recently leaked this track, which is already in rotation on WXPN:
