We haven’t been doing many of these since we cut this guy loose, but today is a special day: Sacha Baron Cohen is on Fresh Air today at 3pm. Cohen, of course, is Borat, Ali G, not to mention Bruno, who because of all the Borat overload these days, is quickly becoming our in-house SBC fave muckraker. (By the way, here’s a good programming note for all of you who are, like us, locked inside until fake winter becomes fake spring: Right now, there’s 10 episodes of Da Ali G show on Comcast OnDemand for HBO subscribers. We noticed this in between Dog Whisperer marathons last week.) Anyway, while we’re on the subject of WHYY, we’d like a word with Marty Moss-Coane: Listen, Marty, it’s January, the darkest night of the wintry soul. We need you now more than ever. (Also, what in God’s name was up with that show tunes show yesterday? SHOW TUNES? SERIOUSLY?) Stop doing these watching-paint-dry shows and light a little bit of a fire under everybody’s ass. Possible fun topics could include: Homosexuality in the NFL. Possible Republican contenders for the Philly mayoral primary. Why Terry Gross won’t talk to you in the hallway. Anything, just please: Step it up.
