Rumblings: Neighborhoods Are Like Egos. Be Kind To Them.

neighborhoods>>> Who would have ever known that in 2006, Gyro would have not only enough clout to move into the Gayborhood and not be pelted with eggs, but also move into the Gayborhood, change its name, and still not get pelted with eggs? Homos, listen up and listen good: WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED. You’re gonna let Mr. Clean and his merry band of UArts kids wander in and call the Gayborhood “MIDTOWN FUCKING VILLAGE?” Oh, honey. That is not right. That is not right at all. [Icepack/MidtownVillage]
>>> Violence mars The Pearl at Avenue North’s opening week. Jesus, the paint’s not even dry. [NBC10]
>>> And man, if you’re going to deal your neighborhood dirty, at least have some goddamned sense and don’t do 4th and Dickinson in South Philly dirty. For instance: Being a civic association leader and throwing your weight behind Foxwoods when you know the whole neighborhood will FLIP OUT ON YOU when they find out. For instance. As we say in the Souf, holy macaroni. [PhillyBlog]

I suppose that sort of violence at the Pearl boils over when no one in town can find a listing of the place’s times. No one’s going to go to a flic unless they know what it is and what time it’s at, unless they’re just going to the movies to shoot someone.
