Didn’t Anybody Think To Ask This Guy, “Are You Sure You Want To Include The Crack Recipe?
A few days ago, in response to our post about Black Card, a reader left a link to Freck Billionaire’s “From The Block To The Yacht,” and we’ve been fascinated with it ever since. A West Philly kid, Freck’s been working with DJ Clue, and his latest single, “Cook It” (featuring Fabolous) ‚Äî don’t be like that, we love Fabolous ‚Äî is basically a recipe for cooking crack. Which is nuts. (The video for the single comes on after the interview segments.)
I mean, how plain ol’ cocaine is made is nuts enough, but hearing this kid rap about how to make crack is almost too ubelievably fucked, it’s just insane and sad to where your natural nervous reaction is to try and laugh. And as you know, we are not prudes. But this takes the hip-hop outlaw myth to an absurd, almost meta level: Freck is so into his crime, he’s actually kinda creepy and dorky about it. Dude makes cooking crack sound like World Of Warcraft. Whatever. But our verdict overall is, rapping about cooking crack has gotta be bad for business one way or the other. Anyway, yeah: Freck Billionaire. Wow.
