Thru The Wire: David Dye To Be Honored At Lincoln Center

David Dye and WORLD CAFE®, the award-winning daily music program distributed by NPR and produced by WXPN, the public radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, will receive the award for outstanding radio broadcast coverage of music at the 39th Annual ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards Reception on December 7 at Lincoln Center in New York City.

David Dye created and began hosting World Cafe in 1991, with candid interviews and live appearances as the hallmarks of the daily radio program. Over the years, the World Cafe has been in the forefront of introducing new artists from Shawn Colvin and Norah Jones to My Morning Jacket and Matisyahu. Perhaps best known for discovering and introducing listeners to new and emerging talent like Norah Jones, John Mayer, and Damien Rice before they became more widely popular, Dye’s show is now syndicated by NPR to nearly 200 stations nationally.

We here at Philebrity would like to extend a hearty congrats to our most famous commenter. Big ups, dawg.
