Susanna Foo is seeing red these days, and it’s paying off.

The acclaimed restaurateur, preparing to open Susanna Foo’s Gourmet Kitchen in the Radnor Financial Center, says Daroff Design used lots of red in the decor, as it’s a lucky color. She also picked 610-688-8808 - lots of lucky 8’s - as the telephone number.

Lo and behold, Foo’s food license came through yesterday - ahead of schedule. Opening is now expected next week.

As for her legal fortunes, Foo said she could not talk about the assault charges she is facing in connection with a Sept. 29 encounter with a ticket-writer for the city parking authority. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 20.
