BREAKING: Ex-PW’er Doree Shafrir Named Co-Gawker

It’s official: Gawker has a new editor. Two, in fact: Gawker has confirmed to ETP that writer/blogger Emily Gould will be joining the site as editor, replacing recently-departed editor Jessica Coen. Also joining the team will be writer Doree Shafrir (right) in the newly-created position of associate editor.

Having drank, smoked, birthday partied and worked with Doree, as well as having introduced her to at least one boyfriend (that we know of), we can wholeheartedly say that Ms. Shafrir is well qualified to be as nasty to New Yorkers as the law will allow. Stand strong, soul sister. We are proud.
