This Week On The Philebrity Player: OFFICIAL WEEKENDER SOUNDTRACK!

weekenderDear America,
You have no idea what a fantastic time you are missing. Back here in Philly, it is Haight-Ashbury 1967; it is Manchester 1978; Paris 1919; and so on. And the rest of you are missing it. Maybe you’re busy thinking about other people’s morals for them. Maybe you’re wrapped up in missing white girls. Maybe you’re watching American Idol. Pity. See, sometimes things all congeal in one place, and nobody really knows why; it’s just time. Philly’s time is now. And Philebrity Weekender or no Philebrity Weekender, nothing can really stop it. Back here, we know: We’re mad as hell and we’re not gonna take it anymore. We are built of strong stuff, and we don’t know about the rest of you, but a magnificent cultural and musical legacy is our fucking birthright. And it’s high time we staked our claim. So listen: Listen to what is coming out of our city, and know, out there in the hinterlands, that this isn’t even the half of it.
But we’re ready to share it all with you. Do us a favor: Listen to this whole thing. It’s sequenced like an album. (There’s also a nice little gallery you can flip through.) If you like it, tell someone you know. Download it and drop it onto CD. Put it in your car, or on your iPod. It’ll be like you’re with us this weekend. And man, you totally should be.
Love,
Philebrity
