Local Band Re-Unites, Almost Instantly Gets To Work On Behind The Music Fodder

bwSome of you ’90s relics may have noticed that fellow ’90s relics Betty Whitetrash reunited for this year’s Binge Festival ‚Äî the annual pre-Fringe fundraiser. BW, often known as much for a live-fast-die-in-a-Misfits-t-shirt-and-sweatpants ethos as they were for their fun take on speed (or just speedy) metal, made no bones about their enthusiasm for returning to the stage. “We, the rock ‘n’ roll bad boyz of Philly have been toiling away all spring, rehearsing for what promises to be the most eclectic entertainment event of the summer,” the group told City Paper back in August. Well, it seems like the party is finally over ‚Äî for now. Says a regular reader/source close to the band: “The day of the show, the lead singer lost his job (and still hasn’t found one). The night of the show, the bass player was arrested for crack possession and spent five days in jail. And the next day, the guitar player was hit by an SUV. He is recovering. No word on the drummer, Bob Bannon.” To all of the Betty Whitetrashers, we wish you well, and here’s to Reunion 2012!
