Confession time: We had actually wanted the new Comets On Fire record for The Philebrity Player ‚Äî wanted to put it on there very badly in fact ‚Äî but we didn’t feel like dealing with SubPop. You know the deal: SubPop are like major indie starmakers, regard themselves as such, and some days, you know, it might be cloudy, you might not feel right, you don’t feel like explaining to someone on the West Coast what Philadelphia and Philebrity are (just so you know, this is fucking exhausting, always) and whatever, you just don’t feel like dealing with SubPop. Well, that day turned into weeks, and before you know it, shit, man: It’s our loss. But not necessarily yours.
