This Weekend: WOGL & WMGK Top 500 Songs We Play Every Weekend Anyway Marathon!
FRIDAY:
>>> Start it off right: DJ Wild Kyle aka Ashy K DJs Johnny Brenda’s; the only reason we mention this, really, is because of the HALF OFF OYSTERS FROM 4 to 6. We know you don’t care, but we plan on slurpin’ on the slizzurp with maximum savings.
>>> The ID6 Scooter Rally takes off for its annual three-day humdinger tonight, and really, there is too much to list here. Much mod boy/girl interaction, full schedule courtesy Hostile City Scooter Club.
>>> Oh, you dateless wonder, you. Man Man and Fiery Furnaces live on NPR’s All Songs Considered. Also good for barbeques, if you can pull yourself away from the WOGL and WMGK Top 500 Songs We Play Every Weekend Anyway marathons. Full disclosure: Sadly, we cannot.
SATURDAY:
>>> Good God, when’s the last time you went to Aqua? Time and again, we’re astounded at how little play this place gets, seeing as how it’s one-stop-shopping for the whole tiny venue/sweaty dancing thing. Illvibe Collective‘s Bodyrock show up tonight, promising a sum-summertime mix of hip-hop, funk and classics. We believe. 4th & Girard.
>>> SoLibs, take cover! Hipsters Vs. Homos at The Dive.
>>> Whether you know him as Pele or Knockout Ned, Seu Jorge (pictured) is amazing either way. He hits the Troc tonight. Mp3? Sure:

SUNDAY:
>>> We recommend cooking some fine Blue Crabs. Here’s our favorite recipe: 1. Large stockpot halfway full of water. 2. 2 cans of Miller High Life. 3. One pack of Captain Jesse G. Crab Seasoning, available from the captain hisself at 8th & Washington. 4. One pack Zatarain’s Crab-Boil. Put all of this shit together and boil it. 5. Drop LIVE CRABS into boiling water for 16 minutes. This part is fun. Please remember to taunt crab through all parts of the death process. Chill and serve with, as a dipping sauce, 5 tablespoons of Jesse G. and a large ice cube.
>>> Celebrate this thing we call America, and bear in mind: Although it certainly feels like a foreign land these days, remember that it isn’t. It doesn’t belong to those that would exclude and obfuscate and kill to prove points that are false to begin with. It belongs to us. And even if it doesn’t we’re probably all leaving soon anyway. So do whatever the fuck you want.
Love,
Philebrity.
>>> PS.: K-Fed’s DJ and the man responsible for “PopoZao”, Disco D, at The Walnut Room. A little too funny not to mention.
