Developing: G-Ho In Uproar Over G-Ho Being Called G-Ho

g-hoHaving been acknowledged by everyone from us to Craig LaBan, it seems that not all of the residents of G-Ho ‚Äî the neighborhood in and around the Graduate Hospital (think of the area roughly squared in by Bob & Barbara’s, Rittenhouse, Fitler Square and Grays Ferry Ave) ‚Äî are happy about their newly minted name. According to self-appointed G-Ho one-man marketing and tourism commission R. Bradley Maule, “There was a SOSNA [South Of South Neighborhood Association] meeting and the g-ho name came up, apparently offending the board so much that it has prioritized naming the neighborhood.” At issue? Obviously, the hot button ho-word. Add to that the fact the Graduate Hospital itself has just been sold, and you’ve got a real quandary: Can you really name a ‘hood for something that is no longer there? But Maule is circumspect in descibing the moniker’s obvious appeal. “Does Graduate Hospital’s sale kill the G-Ho revolution?,” he says on his website. “No, silly — it justifies it. G-Ho: love all, serve all.”
