This Weekend: We’re Gonna Have A Real Good Time Together

FRIDAY:
>>> This is the sound “WHOA” makes when you plug it into a MoogerFooger: Acid Mothers Temple at Vox Populi. 1350 Cherry St., 8pm, $10.
>>> We’re not allowed to tell you where it is, and we’re not allowed to tell you who’s playing, but apparently there is a Top Secret Thrilladelphia KickOff Thing and the guest list is already closed so forget about it. On the plus side, this is bound to make drink lines at actual God-fearing honest-to-goodness bars a little shorter. Maybe.
>>> From “guest list closed” to “sold the fuck out”: Eagles Of Death Metal and Rye Coalition at The Khyber. Tonight, there will be some lonely Burning Angel girls indeed in North Jersey. Let their loss be your gain, however: Rye Coalition is also doing an instore at AKA Music at 6pm. For the record, we think this band is totally dumb but we know lots of you still haven’t gotten the whole thing out of your systems yet. It’s OK. There’s no judgement here. Wait, what the fuck are we talking about? There’s nothing BUT judgement here! Oh well. Like Biggie says: If you don’t know, now you know.
>>> Textile-o-philes take note: Closeknit: History, Textile and Place opens up tonight at Coral Street Arts House. 2446-68 Coral Street, 6-9pm, free.
SATURDAY:
>>> As we mentioned before: Favourite Sons at Making Time at Transit.
>>> More Thrilladelphia, and this time it’s something you can actually go to: Early evening party, 4-9pm, with more secret guests. Two clues: One of the bands has guitars, and the other band has guitars. Turtle Studios, 225 Quarry Street.
>>> Ex-GBV frontman/current Struggler For Relevancy Bob Pollard takes on the TLA. Oh, and look: Original Sins, too!
SUNDAY:
>>> Sold out and it’s cold out: Strokes at Electric Factory.
