Tonight, as most of you surely know by now, is the kickoff of The Philadelphia Film Festival! Throughout the fest, Philebrity will be posting our festival picks as well as reports from the fest. Tonight, everything kicks off with one film: Akeelah & The Bee, starring Laurence Fishburne, who will also be in attendance. We love Larry because he’s a total badass. This movie seems kind of genteel, but this has not stopped us from receiving reports all day that LARRY IS HERE WITH AN ARMADA OF SCARY DUDES AND YOU SHOULD NOT STEP TO THEM. Welcome, Larry! And welcome, 2006 Philadelphia Film Festival. We’re gonna have a real good time together.
