This Weekend: Was It REAL?
FRIDAY: >>> There’s good news and there’s bad news, and they are both the same thing: This weekend is a fucking mess. Too much going on. Don’t you people call each other before you book shows and parties? Apparently not. So in the interest of keeping it brief, let us condense. We already mentioned it before, but yes oh yes: Making Time at Pure with Hot Chip. Before that, Yah Mos Def plays the CP thing at AKA Music, and Adam Arcuragi… well, I don’t know if there’s anything more we can say that hasn’t already been said. (Scroll down for the skinny on that.) Meanwhile, Golden Ball rocks its new ABBA-after-Frida-went-solo style lineup at The Khyber as And Dim Sum’s Cootie Shot is at Silk City for the last time ever (unless Mark Bee up and decides he likes to get crunk 9 months from now), AND Emynd & Bo Bliz keep our seat warm for us at Metro Lounge. AND THEN, there’s house parties galore (Mary, a whole bunch of us are coming over later to discuss true rays of bluelight and mysticpangs), and holy shit, HAVE YOU BEEN OUTSIDE?
SATURDAY: >>> Saturday is a little more manageable: After another unseasonably unreasonably warm afternoon, get wild at the pansexual u/dys-topia that is The Fabric Party at Devil’s Alley at 19th & Chestnut if you are gay or lesbian or just love the gays and the lesbians. In a move of confounding awesomeness, our very own Joey Sweeney is DJing this thing, further establishing himself as the guy who plays doo-wop, Springsteen, the Spinto Band AND the Velvets at DJ nights and somehow gets away with it. Prick.
SUNDAY: >>> “Tony ponders an associate’s retirement request, and shares a recent windfall with Carmela. Junior takes Tony on a backyard treasure hunt; Hesh seeks restitution for a wrong perpetrated on his son-in-law.”
