So, as regular readers know, Philebrity held its second-ever all-Belle & Sebastian dance party on Friday night. And much like the first, it was packed, and a blast. There was crowd-surfing, and there was crying, and not to be like that, but no shit: There was a total rumspringa vibe. It was great. Even people who didn’t know who Belle & Sebastian were, who just wandered in, just went with it and started dancing. Among the lessons learned:
? People get weirdly emotional when they’re listening to/partying with 4+ hours of B&S. Even Sweeney would well up anytime anything off If You’re Feeling Sinister got played.
? Contrary to myth, B&S fans are pretty much monster lushes.
?†The new album had apparently been leaked to everyone and their mother, to the point where cheers would go up with the burners off The Life Pursuit got played.
? Defying all logic, people still want us to do another one of these. Maybe in 2008?
