The reason for the season, of course, is that today is the release date for the sixth album by Philebrity’s favorite band, Belle And Sebastian. (And seriously, they really are the house favorite. You think we’d let, like, Interpol take over the site for a day? Right, that’ll happen.) For a couple months now, we’ve been quietly (and now not-so-quietly) geeking out about The Life Pursuit, not just because it’s B&S ó we learned at Fold Your Hands, Child, You Walk Like A Peasant that the band is not invincible ó but because this is wildly ambitious pop music that is irresistible on too many levels, for us, at least, to go into here. But don’t let us convince you: Dig into the record for free, for yourself, thusly. And if we may shout over the Atlantic, well done, kids.
